Yes, obviously its too crowded. I support real safe bike roads and slow electric roads that can be created by taking away a lane or two from existing automobile roads, and installing concrete separation median from fast moving autos. Tax incentives for bikers and e-car drivers. No new roads. People must change their transportation habits because we are past saturation and hiway design. I am adamentaly opposed to the proposed rail transit boondoggle Lingle supports, and the environmental hazard posed by the SuperFerry Lingle supports.

Much of the housing shortage is caused by tourism which uses land resources, water, roads,raises taxes on homeowners, causes land prices to rise, etc. I want taxpayer dollars subsidizing tourism to be stopped. Let tourism diminish to lower level so local people can own homes and enjoy the Hawaii that used to be Mo Betta! when not so much people crowed everything. Also, any rich and generous people with good heart can donate land andmoney to build affordable rentals and housing for lower income people instead of building hotels and condos like TRUMP is doing now. Cut back on tourism [see above] Everybody needs housing, but not everybody in the world can live in Hawaii, its a small place. The more people living in Hawaii, the more chance that other people mostly local people will lose out. Next governor George Peabody has some experience in alternative energy as an installer of propane water heaters and photovoltaic solar electric power and solar water heaters. Windmills are good in windy places, and steam flows restored would be effective for a few people like taro farmers. The key to success with alternative energy systems is CONSERVATION, locations, and DESENTRALIZATION [less consentration of people, as in rural life style, pono with nature as it is in Hawaii nei.]

Governor to be George Peabody wants to make it clear that it is government schools that are failing students, not private schools. That said, history tells the rest: when have government schools in general been anything more that marginally successful? Never. Because centeralized DOE and mandated federal curricula take away the spirit of teachers teaching inquiring minds and replaces it with the PoliceState mentality and values, producing students who just want to get out of school and be free asap.

NCLB results in MOST children left behind, or boosted ahead into oblivion. Only one change needed for NCLB: send it back to the feds for THEIR children. Hawaii needs freedom in education, no mandatory attendance, it is a privelege to be education, and you pay for it as you go directly to the teachers. An interim solution would be to let Kamehameha schools run the state educations system accepting ALL students without regard to race. They do a good job otherwise, like private Punahou and others. Teach RRR, and the Bill of Rights and Constitution so they know they are sovereign self governing and responsible for themselves after sixteen years of age. No welfare.

If high tech industry feels it can develop and prospere in Hawaii, it will happen naturally, and government should not be making deals under the table with corporations like Lingle does.

Bus mass transit works well with our existing infrustructure, but it must be self supporting. Rail will never serve the transportation needs of local people, and never be self supporting, and it will interfer with everyone else's transportation methods, bikes, e-cars, regular autos by taking more land.
